  • Day 1: Arrival in Tirana & Visit Kruja

    Let the Albanian Adventure Begin!
    Your journey begins upon your arrival at Tirana Airport. Depending on your flight schedule, if time allows, we will visit Kruja, just an hour’s drive away. Once there, after a quick lunch, you’ll explore the Skanderbeg Museum, dedicated to Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu. After the visit, we will head towards Berat, an UNESCO-listed city that will be thoroughly explored the following day. The day concludes in Berat with Welcome Dinner-a perfect occasion to enjoy delectable local cuisine and get to know your fellow travelers in a convivial setting.

  • Day 2: Berat, Roshnik and Apollonia: Wine, art, and old ruins.

    Embark on our exploration of Berat, the UNESCO-listed “City of One Above Another Windows.” Our journey commences with a guided tour of the 2,400-year-old Berat Castle on the Osum river’s eastern bank, unraveling its unique architecture and cultural tales. Within the castle, we delve into the iconography exhibition at the Church of St. Mary of Blachernae, showcasing the artistry of renowned 16th-century Albanian icon painter Onufri. Departing the city, we head to Roshnik village near the Tomorri mountain for a delightful experience at Alpeta Agritourism and Winery. Indulging in fine Albanian wines and delectable cuisine during a farm-to-table lunch, paired with a wine tasting, allows us to savor their top wines and traditional raki. Continuing our journey towards the Albanian Riviera, we pause at the archaeological site of Apollonia. Together, we explore its rich history, from Greek colonist roots to Roman prominence under Julius Caesar. The day concludes at Llogara National Park, offering us a free evening surrounded by the beauty of nature and refreshing forests.

  • Day 3: Albanian Riviera: Exploring Coastal Delights

    Begin your day of tranquilly with a serene exploration and meditation stroll, surrounded by the soothing rustle of leaves and crisp morning air. After breakfast, head South for a Riviera adventure, where mountains meet the beautiful Ionian Sea. En way to Ali Pasha Castle at Porto Palermo Bay, you’ll pass through picturesque Ionian villages like Dhermi and Himara. Explore the one-of-a-kind triangular castle and learn about Ali Pasha Tepelena, a significant Albanian ruler from the 18th to 19th centuries with ties to Napoleon and Lord Nelson. Enjoy some free time on the beach, with the option to bathe and swim. Next, we travel to the intriguing Upper Qeparo village, which is 300 metres above sea level and offers some of Albania Riviera’s most breathtaking views. Wandering around this partially empty village feels like entering a timeless novel. Lunch is served at a local Qeparo restaurant, where you will enjoy unique regional flavours and products. The day concludes in Saranda for the overnight stay. You will have some free time in the evening to explore this charming Ionian city, walking along the promenade, enjoying the sea breeze, and savoring fresh seafood.

  • Day 4: Butrint: Ancient Marvels and Natural Wonders!

    Our day begins with a visit to Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site with prehistoric origins. It was originally settled by the Illyrian tribe of the Chaonians and later became a Roman colony and bishopric. Butrint was praised by Cicero for its beauty during its peak in the first century B.C., and it became well-known for its high standard of living. A boat trip takes us beyond the archaeological site to explore the ‘Queen’ of Butrint Lake: The Mussel. We learn about mussel agriculture from local guides and have a mussel-themed tasting lunch. Sailing to Kalivoi, we prepare mussel dishes with fresh veggies, baked bread, and white wine. Continuing our adventure, we go to another UNESCO site, Gjirokaster, stopping at the Blue Eye natural spring. We accommodate in a boutique hotel in the centre of the old Ottoman-style city awaits. The evening is free to explore the Old Bazaar, immersing yourselves in its atmosphere and savouring traditional cuisine at one of the neighborhood’s restaurants.

  • Day 5: Gjirokastra: Castle, Old Bazaar, Frescoes and Poliphonic Harmony

    On the fifth day, we explore Gjirokastra, a UNESCO-listed city renowned for captivating stone architecture and cultural treasures. Our journey begins with a guided tour of the Castle of Gjirokastra, the Balkans’ second-largest fortress, transformed into a museum, offering panoramic views from the 12th to 13th century. Next, we visit the restored Ottoman-era Skenduli House in Gjirokaster’s old town, gaining insights into former inhabitants’ traditions. Enjoying free time in the Old Bazaar, we choose our lunch from one of the restaurants. Our day continues with a visit to Labova e Kryqit, focusing on the 6th-century Saint Mary church, showcasing 9th–11th century Byzantine frescoes and architecture. We conclude the day with a special dinner at a traditional restaurant near Gjirokastra, where we have the opportunity to experience Isopoliphoni, an UNESCO-protected intangible heritage, performed by a local group.

  • Day 6: Dhoksat: Cobblestones and hand-on cooking

    The Albanian Adventure continues with the visit in the village of Dhoksat. Today you will immerse yourselves in the warmth of a local family, participate in a hands-on cooking experience, and savor a delightful lunch. Before our culinary escapade, our amiable local guide will lead us on a brief tour of Dhoksat, unraveling the rich history of this captivating and authentic village. After lunch, we head to Përmet, a quiet small city nestled by the untamed Vjosa River—one of Europe’s last pristine rivers without dams. The scenic route takes us through captivating Vjosa canyons, offering panoramic views of the landscape. Once settled into our hotel in Përmet, take pleasure in some leisure time for relaxation or exploring the city center. Wrap up the day by choosing a traditional restaurant to enjoy a flavorful dinner.

  • Day 7: Përmet: Vjosa River Wellness Experience

    Day 7 kicks off with a visit to the Vjosa River and the healing Bënja thermal waters. Departing from Përmet, we’ll explore the ancient Katiu Bridge, marvel at the Langarica Canyon, and discover the warm, mineral-rich thermal baths of Bënja. Just 13 km from Përmet, these baths are renowned by the local people for their therapeutic qualities, attracting visitors seeking relief from ailments like rheumatism and skin conditions. Dip into the refreshing waters and enjoy the perfect mix of nature and wellness. After lunch at one of the restaurants in the Bënja area, we will head to the vibrant capital city of Tirana. Once settled into the hotel in the city center, you’ll have some time to relax or explore before we all gather at the restaurant for the farewell dinner.

    This tour is rated as easy, but good health is recommended. The walks in Kruja, Berat and Gjirokastra castles, are manageable but require some effort, especially in the hot summer months.
  • BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
    This tour can be done year-round, but it is best enjoyed from early March to the end of November. During the winter months, some adjustments to the program may be needed depending on weather conditions like rain or cold.
